Back 2 School Bash - 2017

We invite you to the Grace Chapel UMC Community Park for the 2017 Back 2 School Bash on Saturday, August 12th, 11-3:00 p.m. There will be food, games, and music (including Ebenezer's own praise band)! School items will be given out to students and teachers for free. It will be a fun time that will help children and teachers to be better prepared for the start of the new school year. Thank you for your support.

Vacation Bible School

Heroes VBS LogoWe are working hard to prepare for our annual Vacation Bible School. Our theme this year is all about Heroes for God. We hope you and your children will join us Sunday, July 16 through Tuesday, July 18 with Commencement and a Cookout at Redwood Park Pool in Hudson (450 Redwood St.) on Wednesday, July 19 from 6:30-8:30 PM. A meal will be served each evening at 5:30 p.m. for the children. Adults are asked to wait until 6:00 p.m. to eat. Assembly for the children will be at 6:15 p.m. The adult class will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. (Food and everything else is free.)

(Pease note: there will be classes for children 3 years old to middle school age; plus the adult class. Our youth will be working the VBS, so there will not be a class for the teenagers this year.)

UMM Cornhole Tournament

Ebenezer's United Methodist Men's group are calling on all cornhole enthusiasts to come to Ebenezer for their tournament on Saturday, June 24th. Register your team for $20 between 5 & 6:00 p.m. The double elimination contests will begin soon afterwards. First and Second Place trophies will be presented to the best teams, and door prizes will be given out during the tournament.

The men will be cooking up and selling great tasting hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, and Nachos and cheese to the athletes and spectators. So, come test your aiming and throwing abilities, or just watch the fun! Proceeds will fund the UMM's local ministries.

Father's Day Breakfast

We will honor all our men and boys on Father's Day on Sunday, June 18th with a free breakfast at 8:00 a.m. Join us for the meal and fellowship, and let the fathers in our church and community know how much we appreciate them. (Note: Breakfast is free for all; not just the guys.)

Pastor Jay's Farewell Supper and Service

We invite you to bring a favorite main dish or dessert to share at the Farewell Covered-dish Supper for Pastor Jay Bissett on Saturday, June 17th at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Jay will be moving to his new location this month.

On Sunday, June 18th, there will be an official good-bye service for Jay, as well. We invite you to join us at both these events to say your farewells to Jay and Monica as they prepare to move to a new place of service.

Service Time Changes

Ebenezer UMC will begin having only one worship service each Sunday on May 7th. We will have a combined (Contemporary and Traditional elements) Worship Service at 9:00 a.m. Sunday school classes will meet afterwards at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Breakfast Biscuit Sale

The next day for the biscuit sales will be on July 20, 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Ebenezer's famous ham biscuits will be served up again, along with sausage, bologna, egg, and jelly ones, and gravy and biscuits. You can also stop by and eat-in. Please order early on Thursday or pre-order on Wednesday for deliveries. We deliver orders of 10 or more in the surrounding area, which includes Lenoir, Granite Falls, Hudson, and Hickory. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to get them while they're hot. Prices vary from $1.50-2.50. Call: Ebenezer's church office at 396-2214 (Mon.-Fri. 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.). Ebenezer's Rainbow Sunday School Class is now in charge of this fundraiser. Proceeds will go to the ART (Area Response Team) Fund, and the money will be used to help people in need in the area.
